I already back up my systems. Why should I use Carbonite Pro?
Even if you already have a backup plan, chances are there are gaps that leave your data vulnerable. Backup tapes, drives and disks kept onsite may be damaged or lost. Storing unencrypted backups off site is dangerous. Backing up servers but not individual PCs leaves important files unprotected, and relying on employees to back up to a central file is prone to human error.
Can anyone outside my company see my backed up files?
No. Your data is absolutely private. It is encrypted before it leaves your computer, then it's sent to our servers over encrypted lines (like banks do). It remains encrypted for as long as it's backed up with Carbonite Pro. No one can see it but you.
Is Carbonite Pro safe?
Yes. Our servers are more secure and reliable than tapes or external hard drives. We use enterprise-grade redundant disk arrays to store your files – the same kind of servers used by banks and big corporations.
What do I need to get started?
To start your free one-month trial, simply set up your account and start inviting your employees as users. To continue using Carbonite Pro after one month, just enter your payment information and your account will continue without interruption. You can enter your billing details at any time – your first month will still be free.
What kind of customer support does Carbonite Pro offer?
Carbonite Pro offers unlimited phone, email and chat support for account administrators on the Pro Help page.
Are there any limits to how many computers I can have on my account?
No – add as many users and computers as you need to your Carbonite Pro account.
If Carbonite Pro is always on, won't it slow down my computer?
No. Carbonite Pro does not slow down your system or Internet connection while you are using your computer. After your initial backup, it's unlikely you will ever notice a change in the way your computer performs while using Carbonite Pro.
How do I upgrade to a paid subscription?
Just enter your payment information in the billing section of your account dashboard. Regardless of when you upgrade, you'll always get the first month free.
